Route: Welton Dale
Area: East Yorkshire
Date of walk: 4th November 2016
Walkers: Andrew and Gilly
Distance: 3.7 miles
Weather: Sunshine then rain near the end
We’d left it rather late in the day for a walk today, and with the sun already quite low in the sky parked opposite the Green Dragon pub in the attractive village of Welton
We walked past St Helen’s Church, which must be one of the most attractive churches in the country, and then followed Dale Road past Welton Mill. This outward section of the walk is along the Yorkshire Wolds Way and this took us through Welton Dale and up to Welton Top
After a short walk across the wold we started the return leg of the walk, following another walking route known as the Beverley 20. The path was as straight as an arrow and made for quick progress, which was a good thing as it started raining at this point
We arrived back in Welton and walked down Chapel Hill, passing by the church again, to complete a short but sweet circuit
