Route: Walla Crag
Area: Central Lake District
Date of walk: 6th November 2013
Walkers: Andrew and Gilly
Distance: 7.5 miles
Ascent: 1,100 feet
It was a dull and overcast day, so we decided on a low level fell but one which has plenty of interest and fabulous views whatever the weather
We parked at the Headlands in the middle of Keswick and walked out of the town via Hope Park
The ascent of Walla Crag via Castlerigg and Rakefoot is very easy and we were soon on the top enjoying views back over Keswick and Derwent Water
We descended to Ashness Bridge and then back into Keswick along the shore of the lake. Despite the indifferent weather we’d had a great time in stunning surroundings
