Today was the last day of our short stay at Derwent View Hackness and for the third day running we had sun and blue skies, so were able to make this a hat trick of great walks in North Yorks
We left the cottage and walked through the village past Hackness Hall, then climbed up through Greengate Wood. We emerged onto open farmland with views of the tabular hills all around, then descended via Hawthorn Wood back down to valley level
There was a short section of road before we joined a path which runs above Hackness and The Hall, with tremendous views of both along the way
We then retraced our steps back through the village back to the cottage. What a great way to round off our mini break in this beautiful part of the country
