Route: Runswick Bay and Staithes
Area: North York Moors
Date of walk: 10th August 2013
Walkers: Andrew and Gilly
Distance: 8.9 miles
Ascent: 800 feet
We parked in the beautiful village of Runswick Bay, a paradise for artists and photographers. After leaving the village, we walked through fields, and then a nature reserve, before arriving at the equally attractive coastal village of Staithes
Having walked about 4 miles so far, we’d worked up an appetite, and had some guilt free fish and chips at the Cod and Lobster. We then wandered around the narrow streets for a while
After leaving Staithes we joined the Cleveland Way for the climax of the walk, a magnificent cliff top walk all the way back to Runswick Bay.
The weather was overcast at times, but the views out to sea were fantastic nevertheless
We both agreed that this had been a 5 star walk
