Route: Silver How
Area: Central Lake District
Date of walk: 10th January 2014
Walkers: Andrew
Distance: 4.1 miles
Ascent: 900 feet
I parked by Grasmere Church and put the required fee in the honesty box, plus a bit more for luck, and left the village following an easy track past Allen Bank
The way to the top of Silver How was easy and from the top I admired the view back over Grasmere and Rydal Water. It was a dull day with low cloud so the views were restricted, which was a shame
I followed the easy ridge down for a while and then turned back along the lower slopes of the fell to return to Grasmere
Despite the indifferent weather, it had been an enjoyable walk in beautiful surroundings
