Route: River Ouse Ramble
Area: East Yorkshire
Date of walk: 27th October 2013
Walkers: Andrew
Distance: 6.7 miles
Ascent: 100 feet
I parked in the remote village of Laxton, next to St Peter’s Church.
I walked out of the village along a deserted country lane, and on reaching Saltmarshe I joined the Trans Pennine Trail
The Trail runs along the top of the flood defence barrier on the north bank of the River Ouse. The terrain is completely flat for miles around, though this doesn’t mean that it’s boring – there’s still plenty to see, and the big landscape has a unique quality to it
After walking along the river bank for about two miles, I headed back inland at Yokefleet, and made my way back to Laxton along quiet lanes
The weather had been sunny but very windy and it was hard to hold the camera steady at times
