Route: Ullswater and Place Fell
Area: Far Eastern Lake District
Date of walk: 28th February 2013
Walkers: Andrew and Gilly
Distance: 7.4 miles
Ascent: 2,000 feet
We parked at Glenridding and took the mid morning boat to Howtown courtesy of Ullswater Steamers. It took about 30 minutes to get to Howtown. We then walked across the foot of Hallin Fell, which I’d climbed last Sunday, and over the top of Place Fell and back to Glenridding.
The views were fantastic, there were no clouds, just sun and blue skies. A perfect day out.
