On the last day of a wonderful week in the walking paradise of Mallorca I decided to walk from our base in Sóller to a well known viewpoint above the town known as the Mirador de Ses Barques, from which there are spectacular views over Port de Sóller
I set off from our rented villa (anyone else following this walk could start from the main square, or the football ground), and after walking through the outskirts of the town picked up the path in the direction of Tuent
It was uphill all the way from this point and quite hard work in the boiling heat. After reaching the mirador and admiring the wonderful view I carried on along the Tuent path, turning back in the direction of Sóller after about 10 minutes
It was all downhill from here – not in the scenic sense though – as there were more beautiful views on the way back down
It was great end to a great holiday
