Having finished our walk in Cressbrook Dale by late morning (click here for that walk), there was a full afternoon left ahead and where better to spend it than Haddon Hall which has been described as ‘the most perfect house to survive from the middle ages”
After entering via the ancient courtyard we walked around the superbly planted gardens and then into the Hall itself, which has been sympathetically restored over the years
I’ve not included the usual maps page as this would be pointless. This is a place to wander round and marvel at the beauty both inside and out and I hope that the photos below will convey that…
