The Drewton Estate is on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and a delightful place to walk. There’s a wide variety of countryside including woodland, valleys, meadows and arable land
I walked past Drewton Manor and then turned left to climb steadily uphill past the woods above Austin Dale, from where there were tremendous views back as far as River Humber. At the top of the woods there was a short section of road walking (thankfully short as the road was quite busy), before I joined the Yorkshire Wolds Way to walk through East Dale and Drewton Dale back to the start
I’d been hoping to see some of the red kites for which this place is renowned but was out of luck today. No matter, as it was an enjoyable walk in lovely surroundings
For anyone following this walk, it’s well worthwhile visiting the excellent farm shop at Drewton’s, which is near the starting point
