Route: a short walk to Crummock Water
Area: Western Lake District
Date of walk: 20th February 2014
Walkers: Andrew
Distance: 1 mile
Ascent: nil
This wasn’t a walk really, it was more of a stroll. It had been a miserable day with constant rain and reluctantly I aborted my intended fell walk
Later in the afternoon, by now too late to go far, the rain stopped at last and there was just enough time to visit my favourite spot – the head of Crummock Water
Navigation is a simple affair – just park in the National Trust car park at Scale Hill and follow the wide track to the lake
The head of the lake is beautiful in all weather and today was no exception
