Route: Crummock Water

I walked round the valley again to check out the local road conditions. The lane from home to Lorton was again impassable at Hopebeck, the drifts were as high as the dry stone walls
Further along they were completely clear. After passing through High and Low Lorton I went along the lane to Thackthwaite and turned off through the fields at Foulsyke, where there was a wonderful view of Crummock Water and surrounding fells
I then went into Lanthwaite Woods and to the head of Crummock Water, up to Lanthwaite Green and back home via the path above the dry stone wall
The weather was brighter but it was bitterly cold, with gusting winds that at one point blew me over
