Route: Millbeck to Cockermouth
Area: Western Lake District

Ascent: 300 feet
This was a linear walk, starting from our home at Millbeck (anyone else wanting to use this route should start from Lorton)
We walked down the lane and across fields into High Lorton, then down to Low Lorton
We left the road out of Low Lorton to pass through fields to Southwaite Bridge. The path then followed the bank of the River Cocker all the way into Cockermouth
After wandering around the streets of this attractive market town for a while, we took a taxi back to Millbeck
Although the weather had been overcast, it was an enjoyable walk
