Route: Burton Agnes
Area: East Yorkshire
Date of walk: 22nd December 2013
Walkers: Andrew and Gilly
Distance: 8.3 miles
Ascent: 400 feet
We parked at Burton Agnes Hall, which has been described as ‘the perfect English house’. We returned to visit the Hall at the end of the walk
We left the village of Burton Agnes and walked through rolling fields and farmland towards Kilham and then onto Harpham. The scenery throughout was typical Wolds countryside – big views and big skies. It’s not especially dramatic, but there is a unique quality to it
When we arrived back at the start we visited the hall, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas, complete with Santa sitting by the fireside
This was a perfect seasonal end to an enjoyable walk
