Built over 400 years ago, Burton Agnes Hall has been described as ‘the perfect English house’. Despite its size, there’s a charming atmosphere and it feels like a loved and lived in home
The woodland walk is well signposted and even if you tried very hard it would be impossible to get lost
The purpose of our visit was to show our granddaughter Phoebe the stunning Christmas decorations, which attract visitors from far and wide
Before we entered the hall, we wandered around the award winning walled garden and also walked round the woodland garden, both of which were full of interest even at this time of year
We then went into the hall, which is filled with treasures collected over the years – it was beautiful, and the beauty was enhanced by the original Christmas decorations which seemed to meet with Phoebe’s approval judging by the happy gurgling sounds she made as we walked around
As we left the Hall, there was a glorious sunset which showed off this beautiful building in its best light – see the closing photos
