Route: Acorn Bank
Area: Eden Valley
Date of walk: 17th July 2016
Walkers: Andrew Gilly and Phoebe
Distance: 1.0 mile at a guess
Weather: Warm, some sunshine
We had a new walking companion with us today – our 2 year old granddaughter Phoebe – hence the short distance travelled, which has drastically reduced my weekly average, not that I care a jot as we all had a wonderful time. Acorn Bank is owned and managed by the National Trust and the gardens, which are enclosed by 17th-century walls, are home to the Trust’s largest collection of culinary and medicinal herbs
Our visit in May had whetted our appetite for a return visit and after a picnic in the grounds we wandered round the garden which is full of interest for young and old
