I’d heard that the RSPB Reserve at Old Moor was enjoying regular kingfisher sightings, and being keen to photograph one of these beautiful birds, decided to pay it a visit
I parked in the car park and entered the reserve (free to members of the RSPB). The helpful staff informed me that kingfishers had been spotted earlier at the Reedbed hide so I made my way there without ado. After quite a long wait, I spotted a kingfisher in the distance and managed to grab a photo but it won’t win any prizes as the bird was too far away
There’s plenty to see at the reserve and I wandered around all afternoon spending time in each of the hides, but alas failed in my main objective
