Bempton Cliffs offers one of the best wildlife spectacles to be found anywhere – over 200,000 seabirds make this place their home during the breeding season. The sight, sound (and smell) is incredible

We parked at the information centre (free to members of the RSPB) and walked down to the cliff. There were birds everywhere – in the sky, on the sea and in every available nook and cranny on the cliff face. The species to be seen here include razorbill, gannet, kittiwake and everyone’s favourite – puffin

Having reached the cliff edge, we turned left along the top, retraced our steps, then visited the other vantage points. For anyone who wants to incorporate a visit to Bempton in a longer walk, follow this link to my walk here last year

We were lucky with the weather as it was a glorious day which showed off the breathtaking views – and the birds – at their best
