Blue skies and sunshine greeted us as we arrived in Kirkbymoorside. We left the town via a public footpath and set off towards Gillamoor through mixed countryside including open farmland, woodland and hidden valleys
Gillamoor is a lovely moorland village with a good viewpoint over to Spaunton Moor. Having wandered around the village for a while and after visiting the small church, we followed a quiet road to the equally attractive and unspoilt village of Fadmoor.
We returned to Kirkbymoorside through more mixed countryside, beautiful throughout
The weather was glorious every step of the way, an added bonus after all the recent rain
