Regular followers of this site will find no photos of red squirrels or views from mountain tops on this page, and may wish to press the back button. One of the good things about having my own website is that I get to make the rules – and break them every so often – and today was one of those days that just has to be recorded in my walking diary, even if the walk only comprised a short stroll down Wembley Way with no need for map and compass to guide the way
Having supported Hull City AFC since 1964 and endured decades of what may politely be termed ‘under achievement’, it’s been wonderful to enjoy some glory in recent times and today the club were in the Championship Play Off Final, which has the reputation of being the richest game in football with up to £200m at stake
Our merry band of 8 set off at 9am and reached Wembley in good time to soak up some atmosphere (and some lager) and in good spirits we embarked on the walk along Wembley Way, meeting a few old friends along the way as we did so
I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story of what turned out to be one of the greatest days in the history of the club, and I hope that these bring a smile to the faces of some of the followers of this site who I know to be Hull City fans living in the USA, New Zealand and elsewhere…
