We made a late start today and as a result there was only time for a short local walk. We drove along the extremely slippery roads to aptly named Park Bridge near the foot of Mellbreak. There’s only room for one car here, or two at a pinch, but our luck was in. After walking over the old bridge we passed by Low Park and skirted round the edge of Flass Wood. At the end of the wood there’s a wonderful view along the length of Crummock Water, a view which was enhanced today by some low lying mist.
We descended to the lakeshore and followed the path towards the foot of the lake, heading inland just before the Pump House.
A walk across the fields, and then beside Park Beck, soon brought us back to the start of a very pleasant stroll
