I've just come across your page after spotting a lovely walk you did from Reeth. I just wanted to mention how wonderful your photos are. I live near Raby Castle so I read your account of your visit there and I particularly enjoyed looking through the photos they are stunning. The gardens are closed right now due to a massive revamp but they will be open again this year and will be very impressive. Thank you for sharing.

Your photographs are works of art! I live in the area so know most of these places well, but never fail to find inspiration from your website. You remind me of the wonders of the place and tell me that I should "lift up mine eyes to the hills" more often and not spend so much time looking at the track beneath my feet.

Last week we enjoyed your route to Tarn Crags from Grasmere taking in Codale Tarn (no swim for us) and Easedale Tarn. Mopping up the last few Wainwrights. Thanks.
P.S. A friend called Robert took us on a grand route three weeks ago using the bus from Keswick to Honister and going over Dale Head, Robinson to Newlands before walking the Knott Rigg, Ards Crag ridge and walking back to Keswick via Lingholm Estate for tea and cake. This avoided the problem of walking up Newlands Pass and walking the Ards Crag ridge twice.

Hi Andrew, I've been meaning to send you a message for ages, because for the last few years your website has become the first place I look for a beautiful walk! During covid restrictions, once we were able to go further afield, Andrews Walks became our complete go-to, helping us find beautiful places to get fresh air on a weekend.

Just back from the Inntravel 'Bernese Oberland' trip. Your notes were so helpful as the weather/knee combo meant we sometimes preferred to make alternative plans to some of the longer walks suggested by Inntravel. The idea of doing the last walk backwards ie starting with the cable car in Gstaad and then walking flat and then (mostly) downhill back to the hotel was perfect. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.

Hi Andrew. Iโd just like to thank you for your websiteโs role in our wonderful week in the western Lakes last week. Much as I love reading Wainwrightโs guides, your route descriptions complement them brilliantly. So, for example, when tackling the High Stile range, it was handy to know about the steep section below the summit of Red Pike (we had the red hands to confirm!), and to be ready for the โknee-jarring descent down Gamlin Endโ. I now appreciate your caption under the photo of the Grasmoor signpost at Cinderdale Common (โโฆ the distance indicated is the longest 1.5 miles Iโve ever walkedโ)! And on the Saturday we took your advice that when the hordes head for Buttermere, Lorton Vale is never the wrong choice: starting near the foot of Brackenthwaite Hows, the first other human we saw was the man in the Lorton village shop. Bliss.
